Whoopi Goldberg's granddaughter recounted a time when she and her grandfather Robin Williams fought over a fart in the elevator with actor Billy Crystal and late star Robin Williams.

The 'View' co-host, 66, is one of another source 'Claim to Fame' stars and Dean shared her 'favorite' story from the show on Monday, as part of the clip.

There was a tale involving Williams, who died in 2014 at age 65, and his 'Father's Day' co-star, 74, who died in 2015.

When Dean explained their situation, Robin Williams was just farting his life away in an elevator with Billy Crystal and Robin Williams.

It seems to me that they were Dutch-ovening one another, just soaking up the ambiance of farts.' Originally named Caryn Johnson, Goldberg's stage name came from her love of farting.

There are whoopee cushions and farts, Dean explained. That’s how Caryn Johnson became Whoopi Goldberg, and that’s how it all began.”

EGOT winner Adele admitted to revealing the gassy inspiration behind her name in a 2017 interview with Graham Norton on the Graham Norton Show.

Goldberg recalled that at the time, the theatres he worked in had so little backstage space that if you were gassy, you had to fart the whole time. “People would say you look like a whoopee cushion, so I became one.”

Although the 'Sister Act' star hasn't confirmed the elevator story, she has been 'very supportive' of Dean throughout her career.

“When she started, she didn’t understand sliding in the DMs and how people do stuff now,” Dean told the New York Post last month. Goldberg's approval is “always important to me.”

'She told me to be careful because she thought it was a fake.' There was a long-standing friendship between Goldberg, Williams, and Crystal. Crystal gave Crystal a throwback photo of the comedian pals when she celebrated her birthday in November 2020.
