Trump's Criminal Case Is A Legal Disaster, Says Jenna Ellis

According to Colorado court proceedings, attorney Jenna Ellis misrepresented the election outcome in a court filing on behalf of former President Donald Trump's 2020 campaign. The argument that widespread voter fraud caused President Joe Biden's 2020 victory was promoted by Ellis along with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and conspiracy theorist Sidney Powell. As a result of the 65 Project's allegations last year, her home state of Colorado disbarred her due to professional misconduct.

During November and December 2020, Ellis made ten misrepresentations on Twitter and, while appearing on television, wrote Colorado's top disciplinary judge Bryon Large on Wednesday. As part of those misrepresentations, she tweeted that the election was "stolen"--she also said there was evidence of widespread fraud throughout the election. As Ellis emphasized with Maria Bartiromo on November 20, there were affidavits of witnesses, voter intimidation, manipulated ballots, and a host of other statistics that demonstrated a coordinated effort in all these states to either transfer votes from Trump to Biden, manipulate the ballot, or count them in secret.

According to Large, Ellis and the state agreed that she made these statements recklessly. The judge continued by saying that Ellis 'had a selfish motive' and 'engaged in a pattern of misconduct,' adding that she violated her duty of candor to the public by her conduct,' which undermined the American public's confidence in the presidential election. Although Ellis did not lose her Colorado license, she was criticized publicly.

According to Ellis, it is a victory for the law. Democrats and Never Trumpers were behind this. They did not destroy me, and they did not get my bar license taken away. Her tweet to 'every news outlet that has contacted me, will contact me, or pretended to contact my lawyers or me' said she was glad to have it behind me and that she was still in good standing in Colorado. Michael Melito, her lawyer, tweeted a statement too. The client is still a practicing lawyer in good standing in Colorado. We made sure that the correct outcome was achieved,' Melito said.
