Jamie Cail died in the Virgin Islands | The police have launched a criminal investigation after finding her dead in the US Virgin Islands, where she lived with her boyfriend. The former swimming champion was from New Hampshire. New Hampshire's WMUR reported that USVI police found Jamie Cail, 42, unresponsive early on February 21 in St. John. The woman's boyfriend found her lying on the floor of their house and left a bar in the middle of the night to check on her. As a result of his actions, he and a friend were able to lift Cail into a vehicle and drive her to the Myrah Keating-Smith Community Health Center. In a statement, police stated that CPR was performed at the clinic, and 911 was notified, but the female succumbed to her illness

Cail's death investigation

At about 2:40 a.m., authorities received a notification that Cail was deceased when he arrived at the hospital. The Criminal Investigation Bureau is investigating the death. A native of Claremont, New Hampshire, Cail had competed at the top levels of swimming throughout the country as a teenager, according to her family. Her employer said she was working at a coffee shop in St. John. The outlet heard from a friend, "She just had a big heart,". Loved and kind and well-known on the island, everyone loved her."

Her school had a world-class swimming program, and Cail held many school records at Bolles College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, Florida. A state champion in high school, she joined the Golden West Swim Club in Huntington Beach, California, citing the swimming site as her source of information.

Lee's statement for Cail's death

The 2000-2001 season was Cail's second year on the University of Maine's swim team after signing a letter of intent to attend the University of Southern California in 1998. The sociologist Jooyoung Lee told his Twitter followers that he had been Cail's high school teammate. She became a world-class distance swimmer with grit and an unmatched work ethic. Rest in peace, Jamie," Lee wrote.
