Atlantic Records dropped a new glimpse of the behind-the-scenes video of “I’m Just Ken.” The video was released on Monday where we get to see the making of the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie, Barbie.
The video shows another aspect of filming a scene for the movie. It includes the complete making of ‘I’m Just Ken’ along with shots from Greta Gerwig, the director of the movie, and her cast on set. We also get to see the crew working towards making this song incredible.

It also incorporates rehearsal footage of Gosling and Simu Liu, preparing for their ‘beach-off’ scene. You could already laugh and have fun while doing their performance on set.
From a Marketing perspective, it was a smart move from the producers of the song, Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson. The infamous “I’m Just Ken” landed on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and get millions of views on stream. As for the movie, it reached $1 billion in revenue at the box office, earlier in August, making it the first solo female-directed movie.
If you are unfamiliar with the song, Gosling a.k.a, our Ken, begins the song followed by another scene where he faced other kens in the Barbie Land. The song continues with all of Kens of Barbie Land, battling on the beach with fake horses and swords.
There were many shorts showing the shooting and rehearsal scenes for Ken. Though it may be the funniest moment in the movie, Ryan Gosling's commitment to giving an Orscar-worthy performance cannot go unnoticed.

The record album said, “I’m Just Ken’ has quickly proven a cultural phenomenon as one of the indisputable highlights from the groundbreaking and star-studded [album],”
Ronson explains the thought process of choosing the right lyrics for the song. He said, “‘I’m Just Ken’ came together as nobody gives a s--- about buying a Ken doll” and started to picture the character as a “hapless but immediately sympathetic figure.
The musician recalled, “I’m just Ken / Anywhere else I’d be a 10, instantly came. It felt a little bit emo, like, ‘This poor guy. He’s so hot, but can’t get the time of day."

It was also reported that Gostling was impressed with the song and showed his desire to play it on screen. Gerwig also supported Gostling, agreeing to rewrite the film in a way it includes a musical interlude.

The movie’s soundtrack also includes new releases from Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Dua Lipa, and Billie Eilish. Another track spiced up the movie with comedic relief with the cover song, Push, a Matchbox Twenty’s 1997.
It has been reported that Barbie has become the highest-grossing domestic release in the history of Warner Bros. Pictures.
