Lance Reddick's Death: How Did It Happen

Lance Reddick died suddenly at age 60 on Friday, and his family and friends remember him. On Saturday, Stephanie Reddick, Lance's widow, wrote on Instagram, "Lance was taken away far too soon." I see your messages and cannot begin to express how grateful I am to have them. I see the overwhelming love you have shown me, your support, and the beautiful stories you have shared over the last day. 

According to his representative, Mia Hansen, Reddick, known for his work in the "John Wick" franchise and as Cedric Daniels on "The Wire," died of natural causes. He gave a tribute on Friday to his "Wire" co-star Wendall Pierce who described him as a "man of great strength and grace.".

Painful and unexpected grief

Hometown nonprofit organization

We will see you on the other side. In a post from his movie, Reddick is remembered as a wonderful human, a true friend, and a kindhearted soul. A beloved member of the Destiny community, Reddick also voiced Commander Zavala in the game series. 

She also commended Destiny players who played in a special tribute to Lance for their love of the game. Stephanie Reddick wrote: Lance cherished you as much as he cherished the game. A nonprofit organization in his hometown of Baltimore, momcares.org, asked for donations in his name.
