According to the White House, the purpose of the trip was "to further strengthen the close relationship between our nations." On Monday, the president, who arrived at Stansted airport northeast of London late on Sunday, will travel to Downing Street for their fifth consecutive low-key meeting with Sunak.

Sunak's spokesperson said the NATO summit and Ukraine will likely be discussed. "Our alliances are more important than ever as we face new and unprecedented challenges to our physical and economic security," Sunak stated in a statement released by his office.

Giving Ukraine the help

Sunak, who attended Stanford University in California and currently resides in a penthouse apartment in Santa Monica, in southern California, stated that we are at the forefront of providing Ukraine with the necessary assistance for battlefield success. The U.K. is Europe's driving NATO partner. We are the most significant trade, defense, and diplomatic partner of the United States.

Sunak has gone some way in fixing attachments with Biden after the relationship cooled under his ancestors Boris Johnson and Liz Support because of their extreme position over the post-Brexit management of the European Association and Johnson's nearer connections to previous conservative President Donald Trump.

The defining moment of the trip

Biden's meeting with King Charles at Windsor Castle, west of London, where the monarch's late mother, Queen Elizabeth, hosted Democratic President Barack Obama in 2016 and Trump in 2018, will be the trip's most notable event. Biden also met Queen Elizabeth at Windsor in 2021 for tea.

According to the king's office, the king will receive Biden in the castle's quadrangle, where a guard of honor will perform the Royal Salute and the U.S. national anthem will be played. The topic of climate change, on which Charles, 74, has campaigned and spoken out for more than five decades, will be the subject of a discussion between the president and the king.

Charles met Biden at the Sovereign Elizabeth's funeral.

Biden said to Charles, "We need you badly," when they met at the COP26 United Nations climate summit in Scotland two years ago. Charles responded, "Your kindness is greatly appreciated." Biden met Charles at a gathering during a visit for the burial service of Sovereign Elizabeth last year; however, about the longstanding acts of U.S. presidents, he didn't go to the ruler's crowning ritual in May.

John Kerry, the U.S. special envoy for climate change, told the BBC that he had been invited to inform the king and Vice President Joe Biden about a climate finance conference that he and British energy minister Grant Shapps would host on Monday. Biden and Sunak will depart Britain for Lithuania following the meeting for a crucial summit of NATO leaders. After that, Biden is expected to go to Helsinki to meet with Nordic leaders.
