Following the cancellation of the iconic clash in 2021 because of the Coronavirus pandemic, this year's match comes after its return in 2022. With Wagner, Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw, and Reed Sheppard, Kentucky leads all schools with the most commits to this year's team. Duke has three commits, Michigan State has two, and Oregon has two.

Following his senior season at Sierra Canyon, James has yet to commit to one school or a professional route. Matas Buzelis of the G-League Ignite is the only player from this class of All-Americans who will pursue a professional career.

A Trio Has Never Appeared In The Game

The McDonald's All-American Game is among the most prestigious honors for high school seniors, and Bronny James and D.J. Wagner will be the legacy kids in the 2023 game. As part of the 24 players announced Tuesday, LeBron James' son, Bronny, will be playing in the Game this year. His father, Dajuan, played in 2001, while his grandfather, Milt, played in 1981.

A five-star Kentucky commit, Wagner is the third generation to participate in the Game. The McDonald's All-American Game has never featured a trio of players through three generations. Kentucky holds the most spots on the roster, with four players committed to the Game. Wagner, Bradley, Edwards, and Sheppard will all play.
