‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ Made Over 1 crore On Day 20 Of Its Box Office Collection

Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, a movie with the leading actors, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, has rocked the box office by making more than 1 crore on the 20th day. 

The famous movie with the leading actor Alia bhatt and Ranveer Singh was released on July 28, 2023, in India.

Box Office Earning Of The Film

Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, directed by Karan Johar, fared at the domestic box office within a month of its arrival in the theatre. Under the directional comeback of Karan Johar, his movie had a great run. 

Unfortunately, on its Day 20, this movie only managed to generate 1 crore in India, at the box office. Does this mean, Karan Johar’s collection is slowing down? Mostly, because of the increasing choices, this movie suffered. Especially, the release of Oh My God 2, Jailer, and Gadar 2, made the RARE KPK distinction more difficult.

On July 28, when the movie was first released, it made over 11.1 crores at the box office. But, with each passing day, its value is falling. On Day 20, 16th August, the trade estimate suggests that the film brought 1.4 crores. 

Currently, Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani stands at 139.42 crores in total. It has a 30.75% overall occupancy on day 20. It is predicted that if the trend continues as projected, this film could qualify as a success.

Karan Johar As A Director Of The Film

Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani is a typical romance-drama entertainer of Karan Johar. Ranveer Singh and Alia Butt lead the movie. The supporting actors include Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra. 

Dharma Productions, makers of this film, shared their first domestic box office earnings on social media. The enthusiast said, “Over at first watch, day 1! (Purple Heart) Your prem for their Kahani is ringing through the box office!”

Though the release date of Karan Johar’s latest film holds great importance. In the cinemas, it was available worldwide on 28th June as a celebration of the 25th anniversary of Karan Johar in Bollywood.

ABP Live review of Rocky and Rani kii Prem Kahani reads, "If there is one thing that no one can do better than Karan Johar, it is to make the grand Bollywood masala family entertainer.”

It continues, “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is just that film.”

To further describe the movie, ABP Live review commented,” Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani plays on typical cliches and stereotypes of an interfaith relationship and marriage between an educated, independent Bengali woman, Rani Chatterjee( Alia Bhatt), and a typical Delhi Punjabi man with zero sense of culture, Rocky Randhawa( Ranveer Singh). 

Then, the film tries to deliver social lessons on propriety, respect, family values, political correctness, and everything that plagues pop culture today. All this is done in the garb of selling a formula love story template to the contemporary audience."

Overall, the film was well-received by the audience. As per the trends, it has taken its place among the best Hindi films, such as Baahubali 2, Dangal, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Due to exceptional performance worldwide, it may gain blockbuster status soon enough.
