2023 has brought in a lot to smile about, and yes, another reason to broaden your smile is to catch a glimpse at the “ Percy Jackson and The Olympians” trailer–it’s finally here!

The anticipation of more adventures and battles involving gods and half-bloods is met by a second teaser that was released on Friday 18. The 18th of August did not only share a long-awaited film trailer, but also made it a memorable experience for Percy whose birthday was on the same day of the teaser release. 

Virginia Kull, who plays Sally Jackson, Percy's mother, talks at the beginning of the teaser. "The stories that I have told you about Greek gods and half-bloods — they are real."

The first Percy Jackson book, "The Lightning Thief," served as the inspiration for season 1 of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians." Percy, who is 12 years old, has just discovered that he is a demigod and is adjusting to his newly supernatural abilities when Zeus blames him for snatching his master lightning bolt. Percy must set out on a quest to find it and bring order back to Olympus with the assistance of Grover and Annabeth.

The official date of the original series release is on December 20, meaning that the holidays could not have gotten any more merrier.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians is based on a book by Riordan of the same name, the series is the second adaptation of the book. 

Two films based on the first two novels starred Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson and Alexandra Daddario. The films were met with much excitement as fans of the books screamed for another adaptation. And their clamoring is finally met, because this time round, This time around, Walker Scobell, who impressively starred in The Adam Project, will take on the role of Percy Jackson together with Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri as Annabeth and Grover, all of whom are at the pivot in the  trailer.

The three will be joined by a hoard list of newcomers, who will paint a picture of a proportion of the gods and characters from Riordan's universe. Part of whom include Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Megan Mullally as Alecto, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, Jay Duplass as Hades, and Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus.

The supporting cast is Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Adam Copeland, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Olivea Morton, Suzanne Cryer, and Timm Sharp.

The series will also showcase the last TV appearance of Lance Reddick who plays Zeus who died in March 2023. 

This Disney+ plus series follows Percy Jackson, a contemporary demigod who is adjusting to his novel godly powers. 

Jon Steinberg and Dan Shotz, alongside Rick Riordan, act as the executive producers of this series. Season 1 of the series will have eight episodes, starting with a two-episode premiere that will be released on December 20, 2023 followed by new episodes weekly.
