Henry Cavill's Long Awaited Highlander Reboot Is On Its Way

In a new adaptation of the popular 1986 fantasy film Highlander, Henry Cavill will portray the renowned Connor MacLeod, a role that was formerly performed by Hollywood great Christopher Lambert. The 1986 original was such a hit that it led to four further films, a collection of novels, and two television shows, but since 2008, when the remake was initially announced, the franchise's growth has slowed.
Highlander Director Chad Stahelski
Director Chad Stahelski, who had just finished shooting John Wick 4, revealed that Highlander is still in production and suggested that it may be the beginning of something much greater during a discussion on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz.
After eight years, the film was eventually given a director when Chad Stahelski, who previously oversaw the John Wick films, joined in 2016. A year later, in 2021, rumors of a leading role for The Witcher star emerged.
The director appeared to confirm the plot earlier this week when he said, "Our story engages a lot of the same characters and stuff like that, but we've also brought on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, "We're attempting to make a little bit of a prologue... so we have the flexibility to build the IP. in bits of all the TV episodes.Add Block
Great news for Highlander fans
The TV series is a well-liked addition to the Highlander franchise, so this is fantastic news for fans. Unfortunately, the narrative is kept tightly under wraps, and it still needs to be determined if Cavill will portray the illustrious Connor MacLeod or perhaps a completely other (and maybe non-MacLeod) figure. Let's face it: Highlander would only be Highlander with a MacLeod.
When the movie was announced, Cavill posted on Instagram, "I've been a fan of Highlander since I was a youngster. "Queen showered splendor from the television show with an actor who remarkably resembled one of my brothers to the movies from the 1980s. It is a unique chance with a director as great as Chad Stahelski at the helm and a swordsman like myself.
Highlander’s reboot into production
Henry completed his final season as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher's Netflix smash series last month. At the same time, Chad recently finished John Wick Chapter 4, the current installment in the franchise. These developments signify that Highlander's revival may begin production.
According to the bookies, the Hollywood actor, who is still in the race to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, might need more time to avoid disastrous scheduling problems. The 26th Bond film is not anticipated to hit theatres until at least 2025, even though 007 executives have not announced any specific release dates. Producer Barbara Broccoli previously promised fans that production wouldn't begin until "at least" 2024.
