Jamie Foxx, who has been recovering from an undisclosed medical emergency, clarified that his controversial post was aimed at a "fake friend" who had betrayed him.

His apology which many fans have dubbed sincere came from a place of humbleness and correction as Foxx readily took down the post and took measures to clarify his intent while condemning antisemitism.

The head of the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, "Truly appreciate Jamie Foxx reaching out and confirming privately what he also said publicly. His message of love for the Jewish community is crucial in this time of rising hate. We are stronger together."

After being dragged into the drama for allegedly liking Foxx's post which led to it appearing on the time line of her followers Actor Jennifer Aniston then re-posted A Wider Frame.

"This really makes me sick," Aniston wrote in an Instagram Story. "I did not 'like' this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feed - I do NOT support any type of antisemitism. And I truly don't tolerate HATE of any kind. Period."

Many spectators have judged her reaction, agreeing that the initial like might have been a glitch from the system as Jennifer in all her career have never one day discriminated against religion. It was probably just haphazard like or quite honestly, a lot of these stars don't even run their social media accounts," said Andrew Freund, TV host, pop culture expert, and Critics Choice Association Member.

Public Reaction and Media Coverage

Jamie Foxx received support from the public, with some explaining that his post was referencing a common phrase used in the Black community. According to these defenders, the statement "They killed/lied on/talked about Jesus" is interpreted as "If Jesus can be betrayed, so can you," and Foxx intended to address fake friends or fake people, not Jewish individuals. These supporters believe that the backlash against Foxx is unwarranted and criticize those who were quick to jump to conclusions.

On the other hand, opinions are divided on the matter. A newsletter focusing on Jewish world news labeled Foxx's post as "horifically anti-semitic," while some fans and celebrities contend that he was pressured into apologizing and that his words were never directed at the Jewish community.
