Marketa Vondrousova joined the rundown of ladies' singles champions at Wimbledon in the Open period on Saturday with her straight-sets prevail upon Ons Jabeur.
Starting from the start of the Open period (1968), Vondrousova is the 24th different lady who has lifted the Venus Rosewater Dish; however, she is the principal unseeded lady to do as such.
The 24-year-old left-given is the third player from the Czech Republic to come out on top for the championship after Jana Novotna (1998) and Petra Kvitova (2011, 2014).
Martina Navratilova of the United States holds the record for the most Wimbledon titles won by a woman, with nine, followed by Serena Williams (7) and Steffi Graf (7).
