Young Dolph was born on 27th July 1985 with the name of Adolf Robert Thornton Jr. in the uneven roads of Illinois Chicago. His family shifted to Tennessee, Memphis, when he was two years old. As his parents were addicted to drugs, Dolph, as well as his two siblings, were grown by his grandmother. 

In 2020, he enrolled in Hamilton High School and in the same year, he contributed around $25000 to school once he passed out. Dolph faced some hitches in his childhood, and being a rapper was only the thing to move out of his hindrances. He couldn’t attend a college or a university, though he pursued his kind interest in music when he graduated high school. Since his parents were not around, he reflected his feelings in the song called “Preach”.

In 2008, Dolph began his professional musical career and, thereafter, revealed his first mixtape, namely, “the Paper Route Campaign”. Once he got a thrilling response from listeners, he was encouraged to create more music albums. Subsequently, he found himself in the world of the rap music industry. He carried on to make various mixtapes and, further, earned the biggest fame. 

He was identified as a hit Single, “Cut it”, through O.T. Genasis in 2015, which was ranked at the position of 35th on total Billboard Hot 100. In the following year, he released his musical album called “the King of Memphis”, which remained at 49th position on the chart of Billboard Hot 200. 

Young contributed with many artists like Gucci Mane, Future and Juicy J. Besides, he also worked together with his cousin, named Key Glock, on various musical occasions. His popular album “Role Model” ranked 25th position on Billboard 200, which includes mixtapes of Gelato.

Dolph was open to disclose about his longtime relationship with Mia Jaye. They never married but shared two kids. One was born in 2014, while the second was born in 2017. Nobody knows how these couple met, but they have lived together since 2010. In 2020, he posted to quit music on Instagram to spend time with his kids.

Dolph was targeted to be shot by gunfire in Feb 2017, where many dozens of around 100 rounds were fired at him in North Carolina of Charlotte. In the hospital, he spent two weeks. Later on, a rapper known as Yo Gotti was speculated in this attack but was soon cleared.Unfortunately, he was killed in a shooting incident in Tennessee, Memphis, on 17th November 2021.
