Julio Cesar Chavez was born in Ciudad Obregon, Sonora of Mexico on July 12 1962. He was born into a low-income family, and due to financial problems, he faced a tough childhood. His father, Rodolfo Chavez, worked as a railroad worker while his mother was employed cleaning people’s clothes along with ironing them.
His four brothers and five sisters nurtured him. Julio always wished to do something excellent for his family to cover their financial issues and expenses. He also stated that he entered a boxing game to earn good money, cover the financial crisis, and worked hard to become a professional boxer.
In his teens, he began learning boxing, and for this, he moved to Tijuana. Julio began with some of his local matches, and gradually, he turned to championships. He won most of the matches he played for, which, in turn, led him as the 17th top boxer of all time.

Professional Career
In 1980 when Julio was 17 years old, he made his ring debut and officially started his career. Julio faced his first fight with Miguel Ruiz in Culiacan, Sinaloa, and he successfully won. In 1984, he competed in the WBC Super Featherweight Championship and took this title home. After this, he was involved in the same contest with ‘Mario “Azabache” Martnez’ in the Grand Olympic Auditorium of Los Angeles.
During his boxing career, Julio participated in several fights, out of which he won 107 games in a total of 115 boxing fights. His percentage is excellent and resultant; he triumphed over several trophies and accolades throughout his career. He won six titles in three weight fights, including the WBC Light Welterweight, IBF Light Welterweight, and WBC Super Featherweight.
In 2010, Julio was selected for the “International Boxing Hall of Fame”. He was recognized as the 17th best boxer of all time from 1987 to 1990 by the Association of Boxing Writers Association of America.
