Early life

Constance Marie was born on September 9, 1965, in East Los Angeles, California, in the United States. At 19, Marie made her Japanese debut as a dancer in Ryuichi Sakamoto's musical Cosmopolis. When she returned to Los Angeles, a dance choreographer for David Bowie saw her at a bar and engaged her for the Glass Spider Tour in 1987.

When Marie was a teenager, she started her acting career. She was cast in the Salsa movie in 1988. Her other movie credits include,

In the ABC comedy series George Lopez, Marie was chosen to play Angie Lopez. Despite having the same last name as Lopez, she is unrelated to him. She starred along with Héctor Elizondo, Jacqueline Obradors, and Elizabeth Pea; Marie featured in the comedy-drama Tortilla Soup in 2001. She also had an appearance in the drama PBS program American Family.

In the ABC Family/Freeform drama series Switched at Birth from 2011 to 2017, Marie played Regina Vasquez, the biological mother of one of the daughters and the legal mother of the other.

Personal life

Constance Marie dated yoga instructor Kent Katich for 15 years. But after spending 15 years together, they began to disagree, and in 2015 they decided to split. The couple's daughter, Luna Marie Katich, was born in 2009. An additional fact is that she is a vegetarian, and she raises her daughter as a vegetarian.
