A man cuts his leg in front of his five-year-old daughter: Gets arrested right after

How weird is it to see a father cutting his leg in front of his 5-year-old daughter, right?? But we will live in a world where all of this is possible. Shannon Cox, 48, belongs to the Boone County area of Arkansas, allegedly claimed he was Jesus and Satan as he got verbally abusive with his wife Sandy Cox, 30, before suddenly sawing his leg in front of their 5-year-old daughter. 

The weirdest case 

Some gruesome details have emerged regarding the case of the Arkansas couple after they were both charged with first-degree felony endangerment of a minor. According to an affidavit filed in the Circuit Court of Boone County, Shannon Cox was arrested earlier last month after he had used a chop saw to cut off his leg in front of his 5-year-old daughter after her mother, Sandy Cox, left her at home.

The incident took place on August 2, as Boone County Sheriff's officers got reports about a man with an amputated leg lying naked in front of a residence with his leg missing.

The wife’s testimony 

When his wife was questioned, she revealed that she was not present at home, but her husband acted odd all day long but never touched her and was only verbally abusive.

The affidavit read that "Sandy said he was telling her that he was Jesus Christ and that she needed to get right with the lord. Sandy said he then became violent towards her and said he was Satan.” "He told Sandy that he would twist her head off and continued to make verbal threats."

Sandy then left the house because she was scared Shannon would kill her and went to stay with a friend, leaving their daughter at home. "When I asked Sandy why she didn't take her daughter with her, she said she was worried about Shannon killing her and wasn't worried about her daughter," wrote Corporal Jason Brisco.

The abandoned daughter 

Their five-year-old daughter was then interviewed at a child advocacy center, and she confirmed that she was present at the scene while her father cut his leg. The girl still appeared to be in a state of shock while getting interviewed, and it was also recommended that she undergoes counseling before further interview attempts.

The brutal parent's release 

Both the parents, Shannon and Sandy, have both been released on a $10,000 bond and are scheduled to return to court in mid-October.
