10 celebrities still serving their prison sentences for their outrageous crimes

We always need to understand that celebrities are just like common people who also break the law, even they serve prison sentences for their outrageous crimes. Minor offenses or major offenses, a crime is always a crime and how you serve for the crime is what matters. Fines, penalties, and community services are based on the intensity of the crimes, and prison sentences of short or long terms are given. Society and the judiciary system forgive those who serve their time behind bars and repent of their past deeds.

But certain celebrities took their criminal activities to a different level to repent for several years as their crimes cannot be forgiven easily.

And here are the top ten celebrities who had risen to stardom in the field of acting, music, and sports, but because of their bad choices, they were found guilty of their crime and landed behind bars, lost their career, lives, and are still serving their prison sentence.

Marion Hugh 'Suge' Knight Jr's 28 years of prison sentence

The CEO of Death Row Records, Hip-hop star Marion Hugh "Suge" Knight Jr, over an altercation with a man named Cle Bone Sloan, rammed his vehicle on Cle Bone Sloan, who later died of his injuries. Later the Hip-hop star claimed he hit him with his vehicle out of self-defense, as he was chased by two men loaded with guns.

Reason for altercation

Marion Knight was working with Cle Bone Sloan on a biopic named "Straight Outta Compton," though the fight started as a small one, and the fight got so intense that he knowingly rammed his vehicle on him.

28 years of prison sentence

Three years later, he was given a prison sentence of 22 years on charges of voluntary manslaughter for 22 years and six years for a third strike violation, which totaled 28 years behind bars. Since 2018, he has been serving his sentence at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego County, California, and is not eligible for parole until 2037.

Jared Fogle owned illicit pornography

Jared Fogle, the well-known man from the commercial for the Subway sandwich, reduced his size from a bulky man to a fit man just by exercising and eating two sandwiches from Subway every day in the late 1990s. Later on, appeared in a Men's Health article and then appeared in his first commercial for the sandwich shop in 2000.

15 years of prison sentence

In 2015 he was accused of owning child pornography and possessing 400 videos of illicit pornography, and having sex with minors. The accusation got much more serious when he received all those videos from his charity. Later, he admitted his crimes and was sentenced to prison for 15 years and was ordered to pay restitution to 14 minors that he assaulted, to $1.4 million.

Michael Jace killed his wife

Michael Jack, best known for his role as Los Angeles Police Officer Julien Lowe in the FX drama "The Shield," shot his wife April Jace several times in front of their two kids in 2014. The reason for killing his wife was that she was dating another man, and she demanded a divorce. And due to his violent behavior, he killed her during the argument.

40-years of prison sentence

He then informed 911 and his father-in-law about in hideous crime and was given a prison sentence of 40 years to serve.

Kelly hired girls for sexual encounters

In 2019, rapper R. Kelly was arrested in Chicago on charges of sexual abuse. This criminal accusation was filed in the New York court, and R. Kelly paid off witnesses and victims in a 2008 child pornography trial. According to the report, it was stated that he and his assistants hired teen girls for some sexual favors and detached them from their dear and near ones so the victims could not seek help.

20 years of prison sentence

He is now facing 20 years of prison sentence and much more years to add related to his sexual abuse offenses filed in Cook County, Illinois. Right now, he is in Chicago federal jail. And in August 2020, he was attacked by his inmates and sustained severe injuries.

Ricardo Medina Jr stabbed his roommate

The Power Ranger star Ricardo Median, who starred as the Red Lion on "Power Rangers Wild Force," stabbed his roommate Joshua Sutter with a sword. The actor claimed to stab his roommate in self-defense, but he was charged with first-degree murder, then he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter to reduce his prison sentence. As a result, he was six years of prison sentence.

Ricardo Medina Jr had an argument with his roommate Joshua Sutter in his Los Angels home over the Power Ranger's actor girlfriend. They locked themselves in the actor's bedroom when Joshua Sutter tried to enter, and that's when he stabbed his fellow roommate and committed a serious crime.

The South African former professional sprinter Oscar Leonard Carl Pistorius, who was an inspiration for millions of people with physical disabilities and also known by the name “Blade Runner” shot his girlfriend dead on Valentine's Day in 2013 and was arrested on charges of murder.

What made him shoot his girlfriend

The athlete Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, by falsely assuming to be an invader trying to seek cover in his bathroom. He was first given six years of prison sentence and was then increased after the later trials.

Prison sentence until 2030

On November 24, 2017, the athlete's sentence increased to a further 15 years of prison sentence, and he will not be released until 2030 but could be eligible for parole by 2023.

Shannon Richardson tried to poison President Obama

“The Walking Dead” actress Shannon Guess Richardson is popularly known for sending ricin-laced letters to U.S. President Barack Obama and New York City mayor Michael and a man named Michael Glaze, employed by Mayors Against Illegal Guns while attempting to frame her husband. She bought the materials using a credit card and under the account in her husband’s name, who then made the poison ricin using castor beans at home. And then she mailed the letters to the U.S President, the New York mayor, and Michael Glaze.

18 years of Prison sentence for the crime

In the letter, she wrote about gun control and tried to set up her husband for the crime by planting evidence in his car and lunchbox. Despite her setup, she was arrested in 2013 and given 18 years of prison sentence for the crime to plead guilty. She is now serving time in a federal prison in Forth Worth, Texas, and could be released only in 2029; until then, she is not eligible for parole.

Kidd Creole Stabbed A Stranger To Death

Nathaniel Glover, also known as Danny Glover and best known by the stage name Kidd Creole, is a former American rapper and a founding member of the hip-hop group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Nathaniel Glover stabbed a man named John Jolly in the chest and was subsequently arrested on charges of second-degree murder.

An act of self-defense

One day on the streets of New York, when he was all by himself, he was persuaded by a homeless man who saw him as a threat and stabbed the stranger twice in the chest with a steak knife in 2017

16 years of prison sentence

Though he claimed the act to be self-defense, he later pleaded guilty, and now he is given a prison sentence of 16 years for the fatal stabbing of the homeless man. In 2017 he was waiting for this trial, and the final verdict came only in May 2022. During his waiting period, in his interview, he said,

 "I'm suffering. I'm locked in a room 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, day in, day out, not knowing what my fate is going to be because my case is dragging on. It's very difficult for me right now."

Sam Hurd as a Drug Trafficker

Samuel George Hurd, III, the former American footballer, other than his games, has some pass time working with drugs. Being dedicated to his game was also working as a Drug lord and sold rungs for a profit. He had a partner and transport vehicles to move four kilos of cocaine which cost  $100,000 weekly.

To increase his profit margin, he increased his drug dealing from four kilos to 10 kilos per week with 1,000 pounds of marijuana, earning him $2 million monthly. In 2013, he was arrested in Chicago on charges of crimes for purchasing and trafficking drugs.

15-years of prison sentence

In 2013, he was awarded 15 years of prison sentence by the age of 28, and right before his arrest, he had signed a $5 million contract with the Bears and gave up a lot of cash after he was busted for drug running.

Bill Crosby accused of sexual assault

The American stand-up comedian Bill Cosby was accused of sexual assault by 60 women and then settled with one accuser in 2006. He stayed under the roof until the comedian Hannibal Buress mentioned in a 2014 stand-up routine that the former "Cosby Show" star was known for raping women. Later, women queued up the line and started accusing how the comedian forced himself on several women without getting their consent. Supermodel Janice Dickinson revealed how he forced her to drug her up and sexually assault her.

 In 2015, many accusers against Bill Crosby filed a lawsuit, and 60 women have accused him. In 2016 after gaining enough evidence was given a prison term in 2018.

10-years of prison sentence

He was awarded a 10-year sentence on the charges of aggravated indecent assault. And in 2019, he claimed in an interview that he would rather stay in prison for a decade than admit to something he didn't do.

Bobby McFelony arrested on Gun charges

Ackquille Jean Pollard, known by his professional name Bobby Shmurda, is an American rapper who was arrested along with his two other friends in 2014 on weapons, drugs, and assault charges.

7-years of prison sentence

In 2016, he was given seven years in prison. The court imposed a $2 million bail that he failed to make. He was asked to take up the deal that reduced his service in prison. In his interview with Billboard, he said,

"I was forced to take this sentence. I did not want to take this sentence. I was forced by my attorney to take this plea."

The deal also reportedly lessened the sentences of his friends, Chad 'Rowdy Rebel' Marshall and Nicholas McCoy.And only in August 2020 was he eligible to get parole.

These celebrities' prison sentences are learning lessons for all of us from not committing any crime.
