The winners of the SAG Awards have been announced

As a result of Sunday's 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards, Everything Everywhere All at Once has been named the best movie. There was a best lead actress and best supporting actress award for Everything Everywhere All at Once, respectively, given to Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis.

It was the first award won by an Asian actor

The film's co-star Ke Huy Quan, who won best-supporting male, also noted when accepting the award that he was the first Asian actor to win. For television, Abbott Elementary and The White Lotus won for best comedy series ensemble, and Brendan Fraser won for best lead actor for The Whale. 

Jason Bateman earned the best drama series actor award for his role in Ozark, while Jennifer Coolidge won best actress in a drama series. Jeremy Allen White, who won best actor in a comedy series for The Bear, was admitted to the hospital recently for a heart procedure. Jean Smart recently revealed she is recovering from a procedure that required her to undergo a heart procedure.

Award ceremony preparations

In addition to Sam Elliott, who won in 1883, Jessica Chastain won for George and Tammy for the best actress in a TV movie or limited series category. Preshow winners were Top Gun: Maverick and Stranger Things, respectively, for the best stunt ensembles in films and TV. There were five nods each for The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All at Once heading into the awards ceremony. 

122,600 SAG-AFTRA members voted on the winners for the SAG Awards, which aired live on Netflix's YouTube channel. The SAG Awards have named Antonia Gentry of Ginny & Georgia and Haley Lu Richardson of The White Lotus ambassadors.
