Shocking! Legendary Competitive Eater passed away!

Patrick Philbin, known as Pat from Moonachie, a competitive eater, died at 59. On Twitter, former host Anthony Cumia broke the news of Patrick's death. Cumia said, 'Pat was a character, 'Entertaining as all hell. Patrick was also a genuinely nice person. He was a big part of the Q&A show over the years.

At this time, Patrick's cause of death was not disclosed and has not been announced. But two weeks ago, he announced that he underwent hydrotherapy to preserve his one remaining leg. Patrick said, 'On November 17, I’m in hydrotherapy to keep my one remaining leg’.  

GoFundMe was started when Philbin claimed he was dealing with health issues and needed the money for his medical expenses. They raised over $20K.

Famous competition!

Philbin was a Major League Baseball competitor. In 2009, he placed 2nd at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating contest in Atlantic City. He took down 75 shots of the creamy beverage before throwing it up on someone.

Paying tribute!

On social media, Pat’s fans flooded with paying tribute to the New Jersey native. One of them said on Facebook, ‘You were a funny MFer’. 'I am so happy we met and lived near each other. May God bless you always. Make those jokes in Heaven'.  

New Jersey-born comedian Jim Norton, Pat’s friend, shared thoughts following his friend's passing. Pat from Moonachie was a legend responsible for some funny moments on the show. He was funny in the purest sense of the world. 

On Twitter, several people share their thoughts on Patrick. Most people referred to him as lovable, kind, and pure.
