Recently, however, things worsened when he had to deal with a controversy concerning Amber Heard and a lawsuit.

Depp about his mother's abuse

In the report, Johnny Depp revealed that he had experienced child abuse from his late mother, Betty Sue. According to him, his home was so hazardous that he never felt secure in it, he told the attorneys and the judge. In his house, he says, we were not exposed to any safety or security; all we had to do was stay out of the line of fire. My mother was quite unpredictable, so we never felt safe or secure. As cruel as anyone could be to you, she could be to us all.

Depp noted her violent behaviour

Johnny Depp later elaborated on the graphic details of the abuse in his testimony during the trial against Amber Heard. During his imprisonment at home, Johnny Depp stated that her violence was quite severe and that she was quite violent, and she was very cruel. The actor describes the extent of the abuse, saying, "It could be a high heel shoe, an ashtray, or whatever else was available to hit you."
