'Days of Our Lives': paid tribute to John Aniston for last Appearance as Victor Kiriakis

Jennifer Aniston's father, John, passed away on November 11 at 89. The venerable actor made his final appearance on the series, only six weeks before his passing, during the annual holiday episode of the long-running daytime soap opera, 'Days of our lives.'

John's final appearance on 'Days of Our Lives'

On Peacock Monday, the actor from the venerable soap opera made his final appearance as Victor Kiriakis and a heartfelt tribute to his 37 years on the program broadcast. More than a month had passed since Aniston's death.

On the December 26 episode, John, who portrayed crime lord Victor Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives for more than 30 years, was honored with a montage of the adored character, including scenes in which he was seen battling adversaries, speaking kindly to his family.

Aniston's brutal criminal boss character underwent a small redemption journey in the final episode of his career. A confrontation between Victor and his nephew Sonny (Zach Tinker), who tried to bring his ex-husband home for the holidays, was depicted in the Christmas-themed episode. Victor was hesitant to invite the former family member inside his home.

Victor changed his mind later on in the show. He explained as he changed his view as he has a heart of gold. A highlight video of Aniston's finest performances was also included in the broadcast, recapping Victor's nearly four-decade journey.

In the long-running soap opera's final appearance, the character as a younger Victor sails out into the distance on a yacht at the end of the episode.

John won Lifetime Achievement Award

John received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his portrayal of Victor before his death at the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards. Although the actor was not present, his daughter, Friends star Jennifer Aniston, received the prize.

It was Jennifer who confirmed the death of John on November 14 through an Instagram post. John's conclusion episode is now streaming on Peacock.
