Chrisley Believes Her Parents Were Welcomed Into Prison 'With Open Arms'

During a recent episode of PodcastOne's The Southern Tea, Lindsie Chrisley opened up about the experiences her parents had in prison. A prisoner serving 19 years for crimes related to financial crime welcomed Lindsie's parents.

The fact that other people have reported the same thing and that hasn't been the case makes me feel blessed, she emphasized. In jail on Jan. 17, Todd reported to Florida's Federal Prison Camp Pensacola for his 12-year sentence, and Julie reported to Federal Medical Center Lexington for her seven-year sentence.

Families Should Be Reconnected

Todd and Julie's lawyer Justin Paperny, whom Lindsie's podcast guest advised, commended Todd and Julie on their "chutzpah" in pursuing the case. According to him, winning at trial is very unlikely.

The fact that you endured this, knowing the odds were against you, and then a long prison sentence with dignity and a plan, still finding meaning, and reconnecting with your family, despite knowing the odds were against you was difficult and inspiring for other prisoners."

The couple's television show Chrisley Knows Best also worried Lindsie about how their time behind bars might be affected. The issue of television access was one of my biggest concerns, and one question I asked you was, "Do you think people are watching Chrisley Knows Best in these camps?".

Concerns Voiced By Television Personality

The answer, as I now know, was yes. While the television personality expressed concerns, Todd revealed he has been doing well during his 12-year prison sentence. In her last visit with her father, Lindsie said, "I couldn't stop telling him how great he looked."

As she spoke about her dad's general mental state, Lindsie said, "I know for sure he is in such a better place. Even his hair is getting longer and grayer."

His nails have not been completely bitten off." His spirit is great. When serving his time with others, he embraces the process and makes the most of it. "He's made good friends," she shared.
