Janine and Gregory's love story clearly is extremely important to Abbott Elementary's cast. A chemistry that had viewers eagerly waiting for Gregory and Janine to begin dating was evident from the start of Season One of the hit ABC sitcom Janine and Gregory. Both Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams played both characters. During Episode 16, "Teacher Conference," the co-workers exchanged their first kiss in Season Two as they started confessing their feelings.
Expectations of Janine and Gregory
In the next episode, however, they admit their passion was a mistake, so that the romance will continue. According to Williams, he wants to see more "growth" between Janine and Gregory, so he supports the slow burn between the two. During the 2023 PaleyFest Los Angeles interview, the 30-year-old actor discusses how Janine and Gregory can get back on track after their secret smooch. During the red-carpet event on April 1, he talked about how difficult it is to simultaneously maintain romantic feelings and a professional relationship. In addition, the Golden Globe winner believes they should increase communication.Add Block
Discussion among the crew
Since Janine and Gregory kissed, he believes the characters have grown and are in the right direction. The students, he said, "are trying, learning, and growing through this process." We'll see how things continue to develop. A panel discussion on the show's second season, moderated by Michael Schneider, later featured Williams and co-stars Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter, and William Stanford Davis. A few suggestions were offered by Ralph, who plays Barbara Howard after Schneider mentioned the sparks between Janine and Gregory. The Emmy winner laughed as he said, "I want them to go to therapy." Williams agreed with her, saying that Gregory has daddy issues and needs to attend therapy.
Williams's answer to the questions
In an interview, he said that viewers could relate to the show because we have all been taught by influential teachers like those depicted in "Abbott Elementary." Williams said that many of the young actors are completing real worksheets and assignments while on set. They take their roles as fictional teachers seriously, and some teach the child actors on set during takes. Sometimes, Walter teaches quick math lessons to the actors to check their work. "Some of the most talented ever," Ralph said of the adorable child actors. According to the "Moesha" star, these children are attentive and come ready to work. "They ask important questions. I know the future of the industry will be bright when I look at their classroom."
