Days after the release of a TMZ docudrama about his sudden disappearance from public view, the fitness icon reemerged on social media to express his gratitude to his fans.

"Thank you, everyone, who, for your compassion and generosity!" he wrote on Aug. 24, signing off with "Love, Richard."
