Royal Hashemite Court announced Wednesday that Princess Iman of Jordan has engaged. Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, 28, a Venezuelan-born New York financier of Greek heritage, has proposed to Jordan's King Abdullah II's daughter. "Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II has become engaged to Mr. Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, on Tuesday, 5 July 2022", the Hashemite Court announced in an official statement with a photo of the couple.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Iman and Mr Thermiotis receive our sincere congratulations on this auspicious occasion, and our wishes for their continued happiness are extended," the announcement stated. A high-neck white dress revealed Princess Iman's square-cut engagement ring, which she caught the eye of her fiance as she put her hand on his chest. The fashion sense she inherited from her mother is well known. "Congratulations to our dear Iman; your smile has always been a gift of love that I have treasured since the day you were born. May your life be filled with many love and laughter moments!" wrote Queen Rania on Instagram. Crown Prince Hussein, Princess Iman's eldest brother, also sent his congratulations.

Congratulations to my dear sister Iman and to her fiancé Jameel on the engagement of their children. My best wishes for a lifetime of happiness for you both." Thermiotis, also known as Jimmy, is little known. Several people speculate that he changed his name to Arabic-sounding Jameel after converting to Islam in order to legally marry Princess Iman. Princess Iman is the second child of Queen Rania and King Abdullah II, each of whom is 51 years old. There are three siblings who are older than her: Crown Prince Hussein, 28, Princess Salma, 21, and Prince Hashem. Among her siblings, she is the first to become engaged.
