New Primetime job
The former CNN anchor made the announcement on Tuesday during an interview with NewsNation host Dan Abrams. He will take on a new Primetime job with the network.
Chris's remark
"I want to find a way to help people. I am going to come to NewsNation and I want to build something special here," Cuomo, 51, said during the 9 p.m. broadcast. "Work with Dan, work with the team here — they've got great people who are really hungry to make a difference in ways that I think matter."

"The big game"
Cuomo's choice goes beyond his ambition for a new hosting position. I've determined that I can't return to what people perceive as "the big game," he added, outlining the kind of network he is willing to join.
Newsnation employees
Ashleigh Banfield and Dan Abrams are just a couple of the well-known names who have already signed on with NewsNation, the Nexstar Media channel that was originally known as WGN America.
Sean Compton, president of networks at Nexstar Media, said in a statement that "Chris joins our growing staff of seasoned, award-winning journalists and will strengthen our efforts to continue to assure fairness and openness in our news reporting and discussion shows."Add Block
Illegal Assistance
Cuomo left ABC News after several years and joined CNN in 2013. He anchored a number of shows before launching Cuomo Prime Time in 2018. But as more details about how he supported his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, in fighting the sexual harassment claims that finally forced his retirement surfaced in November of last year, CNN suspended him.
(Chris is accused of utilizing his journalistic contacts to learn more about the women who have accused his brother of harassing them; he also allegedly volunteered to assist the governor's office in putting up its defense and allegedly wrote comments for the then-governor to use.)
Terminated
Cuomo was "terminated" by CNN a few days after an investigation, "effective immediately." "This is not how I want my time at CNN to end, but I have already explained why and how I assisted my brother," Cuomo retorted at the time.
Let me now add that despite how frustrating this is, I am incredibly proud of the Cuomo Prime Time crew for the job we accomplished in leading CNN in the most competitive time slot. I owe them all a debt of gratitude and will miss that particular team of individuals who contributed greatly.
Sexual Accusation
At CNN, Cuomo was also the subject of a sexual assault accusation, which he later denied. The Chris Cuomo Project, a podcast where he conducts conversations with guests and delves into some of the largest political and global issues, has become the journalist's major endeavor after severing relations with CNN. Cuomo commended CNN in a recent program that aired.
"I'll never be a hater," he said, per The Daily Beast. "CNN has great people, CNN has a great purpose, and I wish them all the best. And I miss so many of the people there. But it's time for me to move on."
