On Tuesday evening, Northern California reported that an earthquake of 4.4 magnitudes promoted a response over reported gas leaks, an odor of gas, fire alarms going off, and stuck elevators. In Santa Rosa, the Earthquake was over 50 miles north of San Francisco.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the 4.4 temblors struck around 6:39 pm, followed by a 3.9 magnitude. The epicenter was 4.66 miles underground. The quakes fell north of Mendocino County and south of Santa Clara County, which knocked pictures off walls.

Santa Rose resident Brooks Anderson told the Chronicle, 'I was not sure if a plane had gone down nearby, it was so loud. He also mentioned that several oil paintings fell off his walls. In 1876 his home was built and survived the famous 1906 San Francisco earthquake that killed thousands of people.

No major damages

After the Earthquake and fire on 18th April 1906 in San Francisco, California, people stood in the rubble of collapsed buildings on Mason and Ellis Streets. There are no major damages reported. On Sunday, a 2.9 magnitude quake hit the East Bay.

The area is vulnerable to quakes, with Santa Rose sitting on the Rodgers Creek Fault east of the San Andreas Fault that sits under San Francisco.
