Grisly death scenes

When it comes to investigating grisly death scenes, the police in Los Angeles have a morbid culture. They have "ghoul books" containing photographs of renowned people who were killed in terrible ways.

Vanessa Bryant

As we previously reported, Vanessa Bryant is filing a lawsuit against the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department as well as other parties after she discovered that eight deputies had taken personal cellphone photos of the remains of her children Kobe and Gianna Bryant and had subsequently shared these photos with coworkers, family members, friends, and even complete strangers.

Deputy Doug Johnson stated during his testimony that he did not feel any remorse for photographing the remains of the deceased person. He claimed that he was told to do so by a higher-up, despite the fact that the higher-up denied ever giving such an order.

Johnson

Johnson stated that he took 25 photographs, but another officer asserted that the number was closer to one hundred.

The deputy has confirmed that he photographed Kobe's remains, but he claims that at the time, he was unaware that the body belonged to the famous basketball player. In addition, he snapped photographs of a body that was located in a gully close to the crash site. The body was that of a young black girl with long hair, who was most likely Gianna.

Johnson maintained his account

Johnson maintained his account, claiming that he would not have done anything differently under any circumstances. During the course of the hearing, Vanessa, who is suing for, among other things, emotional anguish, shed tears on multiple occasions. After the collision, Johnson testified that there was an investigation into the company's internal affairs; however, he was not reprimanded.
