Bernie Sanders is once again igniting the machine that generates internet memes; this time, he is posing in the middle of summer while appearing to be dog-tired while working hard; it is a picture that is worth a thousand words.

After what is known as Vote-a-Rama, a marathon day of work in which members of Congress go through hours of debate and votes on legislation, the senator from Vermont was photographed on Sunday laying out on the steps of the Capitol Hill building. He appeared to be somewhat exhausted after the long day of work.

Kent Nishimura

According to the photographer, reporter Kent Nishimura, this picture was taken while the Senate was into its 13th hour of the nocturnal marathon, and as you can imagine, things are heating up. To begin, there are those who believe that this would make a fantastic album cover... if BS were into music. Others have pointed out that he bears a striking resemblance to the character Bill from the School of Rock cartoon who appeared in the famous comedy "I'm Just a Bill," in which the rolled-up paper character is also seen lying down on the steps of the Capitol.

In other words, it's just a great (and hilarious) photo, possibly just as meme-able as his other famous photo from 2021, when he was captured nestled up in a sweater and mittens during Biden's inauguration, which also set the internet ablaze with jokes coming out of the wazoo. This appears to be the summer version. and, interestingly enough, it has a feel that is pretty much diametrically opposed to his mitten joke. Bernie is sweating it out here in the sun while trying to stay cool, and he's not holding back.

Biden's Inflation Reduction Act

FYI, there's actually some serious business going on indoors, including votes on amendments to Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, which is a major spending package addressing climate change and taxes. Bernie was actually opposed to the bill if it didn't have some significant changes, so these votes are particularly important. His amendments, on the other hand, were shot down in a series of roll call votes, and the law was ultimately successful. It will now be considered in the House, where it is anticipated that it will also be approved.
