Before the LIV Golf event gets underway on Friday, former US President Donald Trump will play a round with Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson.

Trump-owned facility

Bedminster, New Jersey, the site of the third stop on the controversial Saudi-sponsored tour, is a Trump-owned facility.

On Thursday, ahead of the tournament's first round the next day, Trump and his son Eric will play in the Pro-Am alongside 2020 US Open champion DeChambeau and two-time major winner Johnson, according to a Reuters source at LIV Golf.

According to 9/11 Families United co-chair Terry Strada, holding the event so close to where the deadliest terrorist attack in American history occurred is unacceptable, he spoke during a news conference held outside the Bedminster course on Tuesday.

Additionally, players have been chastised for shunning the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour in favor of lucrative prize pools.

The Saudi government

The Saudi government's alleged involvement in the September 11 attacks has long been disputed in Washington, D.C. According to reports, 15 of the 19 al-Qaeda terrorists who hijacked the four hijacked planes were Saudi nationals.
