Google will remove the Movies & TV tab from its Play Store in May 2022. Last year, Google redesigned its TV app, turning it into a hub for your streaming needs.

You will be able to purchase or rent movies and TV shows from Google in the near future.

While you can already do that within the TV app, you can also buy movies and TV shows from the Google Play Store.

The Movies & TV tab will be removed from the Play Store menu at the bottom of its interface in May 2022. Google will only continue to sell apps, games, and books.

In case you haven't seen it yet, you can find all the titles the tech giant offers on the revamped Google TV app's Shop tab.

Any content you purchase will be available in the Library tab indefinitely - you can stream or download it.

For transactions within the app, you can still use Play credit and Play gift cards, and all purchases are eligible for family sharing and Google Play points.

In addition, you can still view your TV app purchases on Google Play and request a refund.

It's only that, in the future, you'll have to launch Google TV's dedicated app instead of the Play Store to find titles you want to watch.
