Earning potential: Up to $100 per month.

In order to try to find bugs before the titles are made available for public purchase, video game companies hire testers who play pre-release games in an effort to find them as soon as possible. Playing video games is a great way to earn money from your favorite hobby if you love it enough.

The video game tester is an independent contractor, whom a third party, such as Nintendo, hires for the purpose of providing feedback on video games. One of the largest companies that provide this type of service is Global Beta Testing, which has worked with 20,000 independent contractors around the world.

There are some smaller-scale applications, such as Mistplay for Android, which allow you to earn points by playing existing games and pre-release games. You will be able to earn points through them. As a result, you will be able to redeem those points for gift cards.

Mistplay offers a lower wage than working directly for a company such as Global Beta Testing, but you can start immediately.
