A deal is almost finalized between Cameron Smith, the #2 ranked golfer in the world and winner of this year's Open, and LIV Golf, Sports has learned... that would make Smith the latest star to sign on with the Saudi-backed organization.

Big names found themselves in this new league such as Mickelson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau defying the PGA Tour and securing huge money deals to play there.

The question that reporters began asking Smith after he won the Championship at St. Andrews was whether rumors were true that he was attending LIV. 

What is Cam's response to this? The question did not seem to please him, so he did not say no, but he did not seem thrilled with the idea.

There are no details about the amount of money that Smith is expected to receive, but there is no doubt that it will be a significant amount of money.

As a reference... It has been reported that Mickelson was paid $200 million to sign with LIV. As about $125 million was reported to be the value of DeChambeau's contract.

This would be a huge blow to the golfers who are currently able to compete in all four Majors. Despite its popularity, not all major golfers have signed up for LIV.

The lucrative offers that Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy received were both turned down. According to LIV CEO Greg Norman, Woods's offer was in the 'high nine figures.'
