Plane crash in Lake Powell! 6 French tourists crashed, two killed and five injured!

An air tour carrying six French nationals hit a plane crash into a lake that straddles the Arizona-Utah state line leaving two dead and five injured. The Kane County Sheriff's Office in Utah said about 5 p.m. on Saturday, the plane crashed into Lake Powell near face Canyon and began calling the National Park Service Dispatch.

Cause of the crash!

Report from the pilot of the single-engine Cessna 207 that there had been an engine problem before the plane went down. The pilot pulled four passengers from the lake with witnesses, and two others died inside the submerged plane. The victims’ identities have not been released.

The National Park Service finally located the plane in about 120 feet of water, and divers with the Utah Department of Public Safety were able to recover the bodies.

Three passengers with serious injuries were lifted to St. George Regional Hospital. Two people are with minor injuries transported by boat to Antelope Marina and taken to Page Hospital.

The nation’s second-largest artificial reservoir where the water levels at Lake Powell are at their lowest ever and close to reaching dead pool status. In 1999 the lake was full, but the water was dozens of feet lower last year.

The investigation is going on where FAA and NTSB are in charge of this plane crash, and the Sheriff's Office is responsible for the death investigation.
