Serena Jameka Williams gave birth on 26 September 1981 in the region of Saginaw, Michigan. Some period of her childhood was spent in the Compton zone of California.

She, along with her sister, named Venus Williams, was directed on the way to Tennis from the very beginning age. These girls are homeschooled to make the most of the time, practicing the game. 

Her father, Richard Williams, and her mother, Oracene Price, helped as her official trainers. Besides them, other guides assisted in learning this game, wherein Richard Williams went a long way to find the Serena and Venus Williams Tutorial/Tennis Academy.
