In 2007, Davis ignored his senior season at LSU to get into NBA and was later He was late traded to the Boston Celtics. Contract with the Celtics

Following the breakthrough victory, Davis signed a $6.5 million two-year contract with the Celtics. More success came during his third season with the organization when the Celtics faced the Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. Davis, though, suffered a severe concussion in Game 5 after being elbowed in the head by Dwight Howard. He recovered to help the Celtics win Game 6 and move on to the NBA Finals. The club met the Lakers in a championship rematch from 2008, but this time they fell short in seven games.

At the end of 2011, he was taken to the Orlando Magic along with Von Wafer. In April 2012, he scored the highest of 31 points in a loss to the Detroit Pistons.
