Bacon is originally from Illinois. He is the son of Donald and Joan Bacon. In 1980, he graduated from Grace Baptist Academy in Kankakee.In 1984, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University. He also earned master's degrees from the University of Phoenix and National War College. Bacon joined the U.S. Air Force in 1985, where he served for 29.5 years.

Career

Bacon is a member of the U.S. House representing Nebraka's 2nd Congressional District. On January 3 2017, he assumed office where; on January 3 2023, his current term ends. Bacon is running for re-election in the U.S. House to represent Nebraka's 2nd Congressional District. On November 8 2022, he was on the ballot in the general election and on May 10 2022, he advanced from the Republican primary. From 1985 to 2014, Bacon was in the U.S. Air Force.
