When Weiner was younger, he attended PS 39 The Henry Bristow School. Following that, he attended Brooklyn Technical High School. He received his diploma in 1981 and enrolled in the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. At the College of William & Mary, Weiner participated in an exchange program as a student.
