He Always Knew Adam Brody Would Play Him as an Adult in Shazam 2 Star Jokes

Introduction

Shazam! Jack Dylan Grazer, star of Fury of the Gods, jokes that he has always known Adam Brody will indeed play the grown-up version of him.

One of the most rousing scenes in 2019's Shazam! occurred near the end, when Billy Baston's foster brother and sister (Asher Angel) transformed into their elderly, superhero selves to aid Billy in defeating the villainous Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

The triumphant third act

The triumphant third movie is also supposed to allow for some influenced casting decisions, possibly none even more than the selection of The OC alum Brody to play Freddy Freeman's older alter-ego (Grazer).

On December 21

Shazam! is set to be released on December 21, with David F. Sandberg going back as director. Most of the same cast mates from Fury of the Gods will return for the remake. Together with Angel and Zachary Levi as Billy, Freddy Freeman will play a pivotal role in Fury of the Gods.

In recent comments

Grazer recently taunted that his persona will try to deal with his newly found major powers and will feel the need to convince a few folks. Brody, who only emerged as a cameo in the first film, will also have a greater role in the sequel.

The following is a quote from Grazer

I knew it from the aircraft of The OC, I knew he'd play me one day. It's very natural between us. We're both instinctive actors who go with our gut. We have exceptional intuition.

I'll only see him for a split second. Maybe I'll say the magic word, and we'll switch places, high-fiving and slapping each other on the back. It's fantastic.

With the first Shazam!

Fury of the Gods trailer is set to premiere at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, Grazer speaks with EW about what it's like to co-star with Brody.

Grazer discusses the similarities he shares with his older counterpart, despite the fact that the two actors don't cross paths much on-screen due because of how Freddy seeks to transform.

He also jokes that he always knew Brody would play him someday.

It seems like Grazer is kidding

Although Grazer appears to be joking about knowing Brody would play him, given that he's previously stated that he hadn't watched The OC, many fans of the original Shazam! Grazer was praised for perfectly impersonating Brody's breakout role as Seth Cohen in the teen drama.

Brody has since moved on to darker roles

Brody has now relocated on to darker roles, most notably as the lead in The Kid Detective, but in the first Shazam! the film perfectly utilized not only the two Freddy actors' facial similarities but also their comparable demeanor and sardonic energy.

Freedy's nervousness

More than just a clever casting trick, Freddy's anxiousness, and nerdiness end up serving as one of the story's sentimental cores. Billy and Freddy's comradely connection reminded me of Seth and Ryan's crucial friendship in The OC.

In his relatively short time as an actor

Grazer has started playing the younger versions of a few noteworthy actors in his relatively short career. He played a younger Timothée Chalamet in the controversial Lovely Boy, and in the latest It films, he started playing Eddie Kaspbrak before James Ransone took over the role as an individual.

Shazam makes the best use of the link

However, Shazam! produces the perfect use of the link in relation to emotional vibration as well as winking humor. If Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a great achievement and if a third film is made, the two actors should be willing to share the display.
