From Glamour to Sequel

Welcoming fans into the mesmerizing world of Rachel Chu as Constance Wu and Nick Young as Henry Golding in the hit movie based off of the first book in kevin kwan’s trilogy debut on Monday while celebrating the milestone of Crazy Rich Asians. 
August 2018 as soon as the film released fans were expecting the next book sequel wise in series, China Rich Girlfriend and even the third movie based on the series as the final novel, Rich People Problems. To initiate this expectation of fans Warner Bros took note and started working on this by the same month. Update came out after four months when Micheal Yeoh told ET that written work of the sequel is under process.

Epic follow up

Golding told ET in April 2019 that he is in the process of writing the script, but warned fans, "It's going to take some time.".
Yeoh who plays Eleanor Sung-Young in the movie said that with this much success on their hands it's not just crazy but super crazy not to do the next series in line. So to make sure that it’s actually happening even if we have to camp outside their doors we will. Later that month Director Jon Chu listened to such rumors and told ET that its early days for the project.
He further added that we are bringing much to the table this time in the form of new faces, new cast and a whole combo of new things so we have got more to show off.
Moreover the next year, Yeoh came up with an update telling ET that writers are working very hard on the upcoming scripts and making sure that things are happening behind the scenes.

Countdown Begins

The sequel's script will be written by Amy Wang, Deadline reported in March 2022. In the same month, Golding explained to Access Hollywood what the remaining reason for the delay was in an interview with the magazine. He further added "In my opinion, the biggest challenge for everyone is getting back together as soon as possible", he explained to the outlet concerning the highly acclaimed cast including Awkwafina, Gemma Chan and Ken Jeong.
What’s gonna make it or not, there are so many characters and so many things to put in from the book,  Charlie Wu told Et. But everyone on the board like producers, team and directors are so much excited including me and ready to try and get this thing going. H Besides China Rich Girlfriend, Deadline reported in May 2022 that Warner Bros. was creating a follow-up to Crazy Rich Asians focusing on Astrid Young and Charlie Wu after their post-credit scene reunion. Jason Kim will write it.
