‘Love Island’ and ‘I'm A Celebrity 'are at the top of the list of the most-complained-about TV moments of the year, according to news sources.
The ITV dating show's 17 July episode received a whopping 2,630 complaints, according to the broadcasting watchdog, citing "alleged misogynistic and aggressive behaviour by some participants in the villa."
‘I'm A Celeb ' followed closely behind with 1,890 complaints.
This year, uproar erupted over Matt Hancock, a former health secretary, camping out on the jungle show.
When the show aired from November 6 to 27, Ofcom got a barrage of complaints, which it later said was due to viewers who "objected" to the politician participating in the competition.
On the other hand, according to a statement on the Ofcom website, "We carefully reviewed complaints about each of these programmes and determined that neither justified further inquiry under our regulations."
According to the watchdog, after concerns concerning Laura Whitmore's Love Island were evaluated, it was determined that the accusations "did not warrant official inquiry due to the way this behaviour was put into context on the programme."
Regarding the ‘I'm A Celebrity’ complaints, they stated that a nearly comparable amount of people took issue with what they perceived as Hancock's "poor treatment."
They further pointed out that no one in particular is prohibited from participating in programmes.
Friday Night Live, Good Morning Britain, Jeremy Vine, and Sky News were among the other top 10 most-complained-about programmes of the year.
Ninth on the list, the FIFA World Cup Final game on December 18 received 605 complaints that "connected to politicized statements from Gary Neville."
The data was gathered between January 1 and December 19, this year.
