In today’s new age, cine-industries have been making many visible attempts, in their way, to become more inclusive. Taking from the representation of the LGBTQ+ community to speaking up about mental health issues, Bollywood has a newfound passion. However, the bare efforts made in the name of inclusivity have remained a mere woke culture. For example, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer “Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui” picking a cis-woman to essay the role of a transwoman. In the end, the film does not make any major contribution when it comes to trans people. But, it just pushed the envelope for mainstream Hindi cinema. These stories of the marginalized communities on the big screen have made ripples among the people on talking about the right kind of efforts. So, here are seven trans actors ready to take the world by storm!
Kalki Subramanian
Many of us will probably know her; she is nothing but a trans rights activist, actress, writer, inspirational speaker, and entrepreneur from Tamil Nadu. She played her first lead role in the 2011 Tamil movie ‘Narthagi.’ Later, she gained immense popularity by playing a cameo appearance in ‘Sarkar.’

One of the prominent figures in the Indian transgender community. She came into the limelight when she was a wild card entry in the Bigg Boss Malayalam in 2018, and also she is the first transgender contestant to participate in Bigg Boss Malayalam. And, she predominantly worked in Malayalam and Tamil films and gained recognition after playing a lead in ‘Peranbu.’
Ivanka Das
Ivanka Das is an Indian actress, dancer, choreographer, model, and drag queen. She began her career in the entertainment industry as a model, and later she participated in a dance reality show, ‘Dance Deewane. Das’ debut role featured her as a brothel owner in the 2019 web series ‘Ye Hai #Mandi.’ She starrer a trans-woman in the Netflix web series Bombay Begums as well.

And also made her debut with Nadodigal 2, directed by Samuthirakani. Apart from that, she was one of the contestants in the Bigg Boss Tamil season.
