Introduction

Stranger Things has officially concluded. Going to follow the July 1 release of Season 4, Part 2, the show's upcoming fifth season will be it's final.

Matt and Ross Duffer, the show's creation, declared the start of the end in Feb when they disclosed that the "extra large" season 4 is the final season.

Seven years ago

"We plotted out the entire Stranger Things story arc seven years ago. We expected that the story would last four to five episodes at the time "They were writing at the time. "It demonstrated too large to tell in four, but - as you'll soon see - we're now flinging forward into our conclusion."

About season 5

Though the final season has yet to premiere, the cast and creators have already teased what's in store, including a possible time jump. As we wait to see how everything plays out for the Hawkins children, here's everything we know regarding season 5.

Netflix has not revealed

Though Netflix has yet to unveil the official plot point for season 5, it will most likely follow the Hawkins children as they attempt to defeat Vecna once and for all now that the Upside Down has invaded their town.

The Duffer brothers teased the show's ending, which sounds emotional. Ross Duffer revealed to The Wrap that some Netflix executives cried when they announced their plans for Season 5 in an interview.

"We do have an outline for Season 5, and we pitched it to Netflix, and they really liked it," he said. "I mean, it was difficult. The story has come to an end. It was surreal to see execs cry who I'd never even seen cry previously."

At the End of season 4

Given that the characters do not defeat Vecna by the end of season 4, Jamie Campbell Bower will almost certainly return as the Big Bad. The show's creators previously confirmed that season 5 will include a time jump to better portray their young stars who have grown up in front of audiences' eyes throughout the show's run.

It's possible that the show could do a 4-year time jump

"Ideally, we'd had also shot [seasons 4 and 5] back to back, but there was just no plausible method to do just that," Ross told TVLine. "So these are the conversations we'll have with our authors when we open the room."

The show can do a four-year time climb to complement the actors' real-life eons with one‘s protagonists (for example, Eleven is about 14 years old on the show, while Brown is 18 in real life).

The season finale could be set in the early 1990s, which would be new territory for the '80s-set show.

In an interview with The Wrap

The Duffer brothers hinted that season 5 would be shorter than season 4, which lasted about 13 hours. "I don't think it'll be quite as long," Matt Duffer predicted. "The final few will be more like Return of the Jedi in that... they'll start from the beginning.

There will be less ramp-up. And I believe that when this season concludes, people will understand what I mean. It's as if we're just getting started."
