Roles

The main antagonist of Season 5 and an unseen antagonist in Seasons 6 through 10, the secondary antagonist of Seasons 7 and 11, one of the two main antagonists of Seasons 12 (alongside Doctor Hess) and 13 (alongside the Apocalypse Michael), the posthumous overarching antagonist of Season 14, and a supporting antagonist in Season 15 are all played by Lucifer. He also serves as the overarching antagonist of Seasons 1-4.

Personality

God Himself originally regarded Lucifer as the most magnificent, attractive, and cherished celestial being He had ever created. Of all His angels, God loved Lucifer the most. He became exceedingly pompous and proud as a result.

When God created humans, Lucifer was unable to accept that He was no longer His favorite. When God instructed all angels to love humanity above all else, Lucifer rebelled against his father and was ultimately banished into Hell.

In response to being expelled from Heaven, Lucifer retaliated by seducing and manipulating the soul of a human woman named Lilith. Her soul was made into the first demon after being entirely stripped of her humanity.

Before Atlantis sank, shortly after turning Lilith into the first demon, Lucifer created the first generation of other demons, the four Princes of Hell. He gave them enormous powers, making Lilith and the four princes of hell much more potent than ordinary angels. Alastair, the second White-Eyed demon after Lilith, was also a creation of Lucifer.

He gave him great power, yet Lilith was still superior to him. Before the waves devoured Atlantis, Lucifer created Lilith, Alastair, and the Princes of Hell by himself. These demons served as the leaders of the demonic forces and were legitimate heirs to Lucifer's reign of Hell.

The Knights of Hell, which Lucifer also chose as an elite combat army of demons trained by Cain to be considerably superior to other demons, were also produced around the same time as Cain when he received the Mark from Lucifer.

They were the first of the fallen humans. Additionally, Lucifer gave the Knights of Hell remarkable abilities, making them stronger than ordinary angels, and practically impossible to kill.

After Sneaking into the Garden

After sneaking into the Garden of Eden and tricking Adam and Eve into eating the forbidden fruit, Lucifer started to corrupt as many souls as he could. Millions of other people were effectively corrupted by Lucifer, who then transformed them into demons. In addition, Lucifer made "Crossroad Demons," red-eyed demons with crimson eyes whose job was to bargain with humanity to purchase souls.

These agreements entail the demon fulfilling the human's wish in return for possession of the person's soul, leading to the person's death and subsequent transformation into a demon in Hell. Then he created lower-ranked demons known as "Black-eyed demons," who are the troops, grunts, or henchmen, and who are employed to carry out grunt work.

Demons like Disaster demons, Daeva, Acheri, Samhain, and even the Seven Deadly Sins are examples of the "special demons" that Lucifer even created. As further punishment for the numerous unpardonable and blasphemous insults to God, Lucifer was imprisoned in solitary confinement once more in Hell.

For ages, he remained there by himself. Lucifer's long-term plans included eradicating humanity, escaping the prison, and returning Earth to its "untainted" grandeur.

Crowley once referred to him as a Petulant

Because he views demons as even less worthy than humans even though they are his creations, as Crowley once described him as "a petulant and uncooperative child with daddy issues," Lucifer is said to only use demons as servants and to wish to destroy them.

This is demonstrated when after several demons sacrifice themselves as part of a ritual to summon Death, Lucifer remarks casually to Sam that "they're just demons."

Lucifer Claim that he has never Lies

Because he doesn't have to, according to Lucifer, he never tells lies. He swears to be truthful with both of his vessels, Nick (his "backup" vessel) and Sam (his predestined, genuine vessel).

He adds that he feels sorry for both of his vessels because they are also victims. He goes to great lengths to seek Sam's approval, once saving Dean's life and helping Sam to get retribution on some of the demons that had control over him. However, Lucifer has been known to lie on occasion, indicating that this is more of a ruse than a sincere devotion or that he breaks this rule when it suits him.

Lucifer also shows Concern for his fellow Angels

Additionally, Lucifer exhibits concern for the other angels. Castiel is captured, and Lucifer appreciates the angel's loyalty in not disclosing the existence of his human friends even when he extends an invitation to join him. When forced to kill Gabriel, he feels guilty about it. He also feels let down when Michael criticizes him during their encounter in Stull Cemetery.

Lucifer Pleads with Micheal

Lucifer begs Michael to "walk off the chessboard" as he gets ready to confront his older brother in their predestined battle, but Michael is steadfast in his resolve to carry out his destiny and serve God. Castiel molotovs Michael, but Lucifer is horrified by the assault on his brother and destroys Castiel as a result.

Lucifer is Criticized

Lucifer is criticized by Gabriel, who calls his behavior "one giant rage tantrum." Death observes the same thing, calling Lucifer a "bratty youngster." However, Lucifer sees himself as a tragic character who suffered for doing what was right. He once proclaimed that "God wants the Devil," refusing to acknowledge any responsibility for his deeds and saying that God purposefully created him in the manner he is.

Lucifer is also incredibly cruel

Despite his claims to be the victim, Lucifer is also incredibly cruel, brutal, and deceitful to anyone who stands in his way. He has no qualms about killing anything or anyone, even if there is no real justification for doing so. For instance, even though they posed no genuine threat to him, he brutally slaughtered nearly all of the pagan gods because they plotted against him.

Lucifer is revived by God

Lucifer is revived by God in Inherit the Earth to obtain Chuck's Death Book, and it is at this point that he is reunited with his brother Michael. Lucifer reveals his true intent and that he is now God's Favorite after opening the book, but Michael kills Lucifer a second time with an archangel blade that Sam gave him before he can escape with the book. Jack gains strength from the battle between Michael and Lucifer and Lucifer's death to defeat God.

Powers and Abilities

Being the second Archangel, Lucifer is unfathomably powerful. He is quite possibly the second most powerful being ever created by God, only slightly surpassed by Michael among Angels, and significantly more powerful than both his younger Archangel siblings as well as lesser angels and other beings. Even though he is weaker than Michael, Lucifer can still defeat him because a conflict between the two strongest Archangels would destroy the Earth.

Lucifer could kill old Pagans

He could kill very old Pagans with ease even when not in his ideal vessel, and he could easily overwhelm Gabriel, almost killing him.

Any vessel that wasn't his actual one would swiftly deteriorate, and even if he drank masses of demon blood, that would only postpone the vessel's eventual demise for a short while. This demonstrated the vastness of his power. Zachariah said that the might of Lucifer was tremendous, beyond description.

After helping what happens

After helping God destroy the Darkness in season 10, it was revealed that Lucifer formerly had the Mark of Cain. Since Mark increased his powers, it is safe to conclude that at the time, he was the most powerful Angel.

He could be briefly imprisoned by Holy Fire and Enochian Sigils, although he was able to break out rather fast, proving that they were ineffectual against him while they might affect his younger archangel brethren.
