After wrapping up season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha has been enjoying life with her fiancé, Simon Guobadia. As a result of her behavior on Porsha's Family Matters, she received backlash from critics. It has been speculated whether Porsha will be brave enough to return to RHOA after the short-lived spinoff or whether her short-lived spin-off will receive another season.

Porsha's departure from RHOA was believed to have been to avoid being confronted about her engagement to Simon. She came under fire after announcing her romance with Simon shortly after the season 13 reunion aired. Many felt that Porsha betrayed Falynn by hooking up with Simon so soon after their divorce due to Simon's brief appearance in season 13 as her friend's husband. Porsha declared that she and Falynn were not friends when she confirmed the romance. Now that Porsha has taken a few months off, she appears to be ready to put her Real Housewives hat back on. According to People, she has been tapped to join RHUGT season 3. Gizelle Bryant, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Leah McSweeney, Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton join her. On July 18, the ladies will begin filming in Thailand. The ladies have already begun filming and are expected to travel on Thursday, according to insiders. Porsha replaces Tinsley, who reportedly left for "personal reasons."After hosting Bravo's Chat Room together, Porsha and Gizelle have a history together. Candiace and Gizelle will represent The Real Housewives of Potomac. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City will be represented by Heather and Whitney. Leah will now be the sole representative of The Real Housewives of New York City.

The Real Housewives of Miami is Alexia and Marysol. This is the first time RHOP, RHOM, and RHOSLC housewives will appear on the show. RHUGT follows housewives from different shows for a vacation filled with activities in its second season.
