'Off the Grid' Constance Wu's back on Instagram after a long absence

As Constance Wu returned to social media after being away from the spotlight for several years to focus on her mental health, she discussed what she called a "wonderful experience and an incredible film."
On July 25, she began her Instagram message with: "I took a little break from acting while I recovered. During that time, I did a couple of small projects with people I love and trust.". One of those projects was "I Was a Simple Man.".Constance, 40, revealed that the Sundance Film Festival premiered the film last year, but she didn't promote it to her fans since she "wasn't on social media back then."
As I am back on here for a while, I wanted to share this beautiful film by who I love and admire very much," she wrote, tagging the director. I enjoyed the cast and crew as well as the heart of this experience."
The backlash that followed Constance's announcement that Fresh Off the Boat had been renewed back in May 2019 prompted her to break her social media silence earlier this month, revealing that she had attempted suicide.
I felt horrible about what I said, and I started feeling like I didn't even deserve to live when a fellow Asian actress told me I was a blight on the Asian American community," she tweeted on July 14. The fact that a few DMs convinced me to end my life is surreal, but that's what happened."She says a friend found her and rushed her to the ER, which saved her life.
She paused her career after the "scary incident" to focus on her mental health. After three years of healing, Constance—who welcomed a daughter in 2020—said she now feels ready to dip back into social media, "thanks to a little break from Hollywood and a lot of therapy."She concluded her tweet by saying, "I feel OK enough to come back here for a while."Though I'm scared, I think I owe it to myself three years ago to be brave and share my story so that someone might benefit from it.
