As far as TV shows and actors from Jewish shows are concerned, there is a strong presence of Jewish representation on the list of 2022 Emmy nominations, with actors such as Seth Rogen, Julia Garner, Andrew Garfield, and Henry Winkler cutting across their respective categories. A number of this year's nominated comedies have Jewish connections, which makes it an excellent year for Jews in comedy. For their fourth and 11th seasons, respectively, Amazon Prime's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," two shows centered on Jewish comedians, earned nominations in the category of the best comedy.

The show "Maisel" had six award nominations in total, with another four nominations going to Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Borstein, and Tony Shalhoub, giving it 12 in total. In contrast, "Curb," with another nomination for its guest actor (Bill Hader), scored two more.'  Curb co-star Smoove co-hosted the Emmy nomination announcements in his role as an Ethiopian Jew, which he has played on the show. In addition, Jewish TV comedy hitmaker Michael Schur ("The Office," "Parks and Recreation") and Jewish supporting actress Hannah Einbinder were nominated for their work on HBO Max's "Hacks," which follows a Las Vegas comedian. Additionally, Hulu's "Only Murders in The Building," which was executive-produced by Dan Fogelman, and FX's "What We Do in The Shadows," executive-produced by Taika Waititi, garnered nominations.

According to the story behind the plot of "Only Murders," the Belnord building, which serves as the setting for the movie, has a long Jewish history that can be viewed online. The HBO teen soap "Euphoria," produced by executive producer Sam Levinson and adapted from an Israeli series, scored 16 nominations, including best drama for the series, created from the ground up by Levinson. The dystopian workplace drama 'Severance,' directed by Ben Stiller and available on Apple TV+, has also received 14 nominations, including the best drama award and the best director award. An upcoming Hulu limited series called Dopesick about the opioid epidemic is based on the real-life role played by the Jewish Sackler family, which over-prescribed addictive painkillers to their members. Michael Stuhlbarg and Mare Winningham were nominated for acting in it and for limited series nominations, so it raked in 14 nominations.
