New Season

Bear Grylls, a well-known survivalist, has returned with bolder and even more thrilling episodes of the popular series "Running Wild with Bear Grylls," but for this season, he's kicking things up a level by introducing "The Challenge" to each spectacular show.

Celebrity visitors will learn the fundamental survival techniques from Grylls before putting them to the test in difficult, high-stakes challenges.

 "The Challenge"

Natalie Portman will travel through the slot canyons of Southern Utah with the adventurous explorer in the upcoming premiere episode of National Geographic's Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge. The Oscar winner had no idea, though, that her guide would give the expression "going commando" a whole new meaning.

Water Filtering

The two discover a little pool of murky water while looking for drinking water. They must first filter and boil it before they can eat it, according to Grylls."This water is really full of loads of dead flies and dirt and everything," Grylls explains.

After collecting the water in two sizable flasks, Grylls muses on possible filtering methods. He responds, "We could use a sock, but then again, you kinda need your sock," and then suggests something else: his underwear.

Are we going to filter sludge water using our underwear? Portman, 41, asks with astonishment. In order to expertly remove what's left of his underwear without taking off his pants, Grylls then turns away from the actress and starts to cut the waistband of his Calvin Kleins.

He continues, "I mean, it's not going to be absolutely clean," and Portman responds, "That's an understatement." Portman evaluates as the outdoorsman puts water over the underwear filter.
