Jen Shah who rose to popularity from the show in “The Real Housewives” after pleading guilty to charges of fraud in July, will apparently not be going through a trial which was set to begin on 18 of July this year. Jen Shah pleaded guilty in charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing. In its return, conspiracy to commit money laundering was dropped. Jennifer Shah was a key participant in the nationwide scheme that targeted the vulnerable adults, revealed U.S Attorney Damian Williams in a press release. The victim citizens were apparently sold fake promises of financial security but instead of that Shah and her co-conspirators defrauded them out of their savings and eventually left them with nothing, added the officer.

Jennifer Shah originally faced up to 30 years of prison time but her plea deal contained a sentencing guideline which saved her. So now she can be sentenced from anywhere between 135 to 168 months or 11 to 14 years. Jennifer Shag is not the first one to spend time behind the bars but there are some more people from the world of  “The Real Housewives” including that of the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice who spent almost a year in prison. In addition to this, “Chrisley knows best” stars Todd Chrisley  and Julie Chrisley were also convicted for fraud and tax evasion. Giudice’s lawyer, talking to a source, said that celebrities can be taken as examples for the criminal justice system. He mentioned that the criminal justice system pulls out a very hard hand no matter who that person is or where he comes from. He added sometimes, it adds on to the list of examples in the book of crimes.

The lawyer in his speech also mentioned that the government makes examples of these celebrity individuals and they are treated harsher than an average citizen. An example of it includes The Chrisley’s who will be facing the prison for upto 30 years. They pleaded not guilty for charges of tax evasion but were later found guilty during a trial in June. The lawyer also commented on Jen Shah and said that she will not be sent to the place which many think to be Prison referring to the celeb style prisons which are mostly imagined. He added that the time behind the bars will be extremely difficult as one will be away from loved ones and amenities accustomed to and he also mentioned that the guilty are treated equally despite their popularity. The lawyer continued and said that the guilty leave all the stress outside the prison and once they are inside of the bar, they are left in a unique position where they do not have any option except to put themselves as the sole focus. Keeping this in mind, they exercise, and read a lot in the prison.

Joe Giudice after being pleaded guilty in her comment said that she finally took responsibility for a mistake she made several years ago and added that she respects the legal process and thus she intends to attend the court directly at sentencing. She continued with her statement and said that she will be taking all the responsibility for her mistakes and is heartbroken as they are affecting her family especially her 4 daughters. Her lawyer on her statement commented that she changed physically, mentally and emotionally post her prison time. He also added that prison time can preserve the ageing process as there are no stressors inside. Concluding his statement, the lawyer added that the people who are exposed to the spotlight should have their affairs in order and set an example for their audience which seems like a good piece of advice to follow not just for celebrities but for the audience as well.
