Jason Thompson teases Billy and Lily's future: Could they be getting married?

A few short years ago, Billy and Lily's relationship on The Young and the Restless might have seemed impossible, but now it's one of the strongest in Genoa City. There's nothing better than two of the best and the fans — for the most part — have been thrilled to see them together!. We were all waiting for Billy to propose to Lily at an event when a fan asked about it. Jason Thompson, however, told us not to get our hopes up. The actor began cautiously, "I personally like Billy and Lily together, and I think Christel is doing fantastic work in her role on the show right now. You can tell she enjoys it a lot." Billy admitted that he did not know if he was ever going to put a ring on it. "I haven't seen any plans of us getting married, but I love the characters." There's more to the story than that. We've already speculated that Chelsea could end up being a major impediment to Billy and Lily's happiness.

If there are no wedding plans shortly, we're becoming increasingly concerned that we're right. Melissa Scharpf tweeted the clip and Beth Maitland (Traci) shared it on Facebook. In the clip, a fan appears to be pressing Thompson about Chelsea. Thompson says, "I don't know whether Billy is going to have an affair...". In any case, a nice firm "No" would have been appreciated! Khalil, speaking as Lily, jumped in following Thompson's hedge of bets by asking: "So you are going to have an affair with Chelsea? Is that what's going to happen?" If so, then Thompson probably shouldn't have hedged his bet at all. Thompson firmly resisted. “No, sir!” he screamed. As Thompson was channeling a defensive Billy at that point, his denials don't mean much, given that he was channeling a defensive Billy at that point. Of course, he'd tell Lily there wouldn't be an affair after all! No matter how bumpy the road is, Billy and Lily may eventually find themselves down the aisle... but not before they go through some pretty hard times.
